This is a theoretical and laboratory-based course that exposes participants to all the theoretical aspects of ART and hands on training, including pituitary downregulation, controlled ovarian stimulation, final follicular maturation trigger, oocyte retrieval, semen collection, oocyte and sperm preparation for IVF and ICSI, fertilization assessment, embryo culture and grading, and embryo transfer, as well as basic evaluation and treatment during an IVF cycle and third-party reproduction.

Controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) involves the administration of oral and/or injectable medications to induce ovulation in the anovulatory infertile patient, and superovulation in the ovulatory infertile patient.
